Upcoming NHL games

Read each matchup together with its date, start time and status. A Canadian broadcast listing identifies a scheduled channel or service; availability can also depend on your region and package. The time-zone label belongs to the displayed time, so keep the two together when planning an evening or sharing a game with a friend.

An empty date can simply be a day without games. A schedule that is temporarily unavailable means the current information could not be shown. Those are different situations: neither should be read as a cancelled season or a final result.

Follow a Canadian team

A team schedule makes it easier to follow a road trip, identify the next home game or compare two games on consecutive days. Start with the team you follow, then look at the opponent and home or away designation. The host city can change while your preferred viewing time stays tied to the city where you live.

Match the game date, venue and start time

The away team travels to the home team. In a matchup written as one team “at” another, the second team is the host. That distinction helps separate a home stand from a road trip and avoids confusing two meetings between the same opponents. The venue is useful when arranging attendance; the broadcast assignment is the useful detail when arranging television viewing.

A late Canadian game can fall on the following calendar day in UTC. Its Canadian evening has not moved just because an international clock shows a new date. Read the displayed local date and time together. A pregame programme can also begin before the scheduled start, so programme time and game time answer slightly different questions.

Canadian TV and streaming in 2026–27

Monday Night Hockey is exclusive to Sportsnet+ this season. Direct subscribers receive that coverage in their package; access through a television-provider login can require an additional entitlement. Having a Sportsnet television channel and having every Sportsnet+ exclusive are therefore separate questions.

The national Wednesday Night Hockey package is on Prime Video in English and French. Its scheduled games are included for Canadian Prime members without a separate NHL charge. This package covers those broadcasts rather than every NHL game played on every day of the week.

Saturday Night Hockey is on Sportsnet. CBC’s NHL coverage ended after 2025–26, so a previous season’s Saturday viewing routine may no longer apply. Other national and regional assignments vary by matchup. The channel shown beside a particular game is more useful than assuming that one team always appears on one service.

A regional restriction concerns where a broadcast may be watched. An out-of-market package adds games outside a team’s local territory, but it does not automatically unlock a different broadcaster’s locally controlled game. Language is another choice: a French listing and an English listing can belong to different channels for the same matchup.

Local times across Canada

Toronto and Montréal use Eastern Time. Edmonton uses Alberta Time at UTC−6 throughout this season, while Vancouver stays at UTC−7. Alberta and Vancouver will not turn their clocks back in November 2026. Their difference from Eastern Time consequently changes when Eastern clocks change, even though the western city’s own clock does not.

For example, 8 p.m. in Toronto on a November evening is 7 p.m. in Edmonton and 6 p.m. in Vancouver. The same Toronto hour during September corresponds to 6 p.m. in Edmonton and 5 p.m. in Vancouver. Use the city and date together rather than applying one subtraction to the entire season.

Scheduled, in progress, final or postponed

Scheduled means a game has an announced place in the calendar. In progress means play has started; a score at that stage can still change. Final identifies a completed result. A postponed or changed listing needs its revised date or time before it can be treated as an ordinary upcoming game.

A passed start time alone does not establish that a game is final. Likewise, an absent future score is not a 0–0 result. Read the status alongside the numbers, especially when returning to an earlier game after overtime or looking at a saved schedule during an interruption.

Preseason, regular season and playoffs

The 2026–27 regular season contains 84 games per team. Preseason exhibitions are separate, so adding every visible September fixture to a regular-season total gives the wrong count. Playoff games belong to another stage and depend on qualification and each series’ progress.

For a useful weekly viewing plan, first choose the games you want to follow, then compare their local start times. Two teams can play on the same evening without starting together. Leave room for a longer finish rather than treating the scheduled start as a promise about when the broadcast will end.
